The Houses of Extra Measures are MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) Specific Recovery Residences for men & women in recovery from opiate use disorder and other co-occurring conditions.  We are not a shelter, personal care home or criminal justice halfway house.

 

Admission

  • Primary diagnosis of opioid use disorder and enrolled in a Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program or willingness to enroll in a MAT program before move-in date.
  • Must have a current prescription for MAT and ability to pay for it. MAT meds are Suboxone, Methadone and Naltrexone.
  • Typically, enrolled in an IOP program, preferably with a MAT component
  • 18 Years of age or older
  • Wait list priority given to Native Americans
  • Genuine interest and commitment to recovery
  • English or Spanish speaking
  • Ability to self-care and self-manage non-MAT, non-controlled medication
  • Ability to consent
  • Participants must agree to sign HIPAA-compliant releases that allow UTHealth to monitor their participation in their MAT program
  • Participants voluntarily agree to meetings with UTHealth staff for data collection purposes
